The ‘mane’ event makes its way to town of Ashland in Hanover

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- At the end of March, the town of Ashland in Hanover County will host a birthday celebration for racing legend Secretariat.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 30 at the Reynolds Family Plaza at Randolph Macon college near the "Secretariat Racing into history" monument.

According to a social media post from the town, admission to the event is free and will feature:

• Live music performances
• Art exhibits and local vendors
• Exclusive Secretariat merchandise
• Delicious food trucks and birthday cake
• Fun kids activities like stick horse races
• A showing of Disney’s “Secretariat” at the Ashland Theatre
