Today is the deadline to request mail-in ballot for June primary
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- If you’re planning to vote by mail in Virginia’s upcoming primary election, today is your final chance to request a mail-in ballot.
Voters can apply for a ballot online through the Virginia Department of Elections or in person at their local registrar’s office. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 6.
Once approved, ballots will be mailed to voters’ homes, allowing them to cast their votes without visiting a polling place.
Completed ballots must be postmarked by June 17 and received by your local registrar’s office by noon on June 20 to be counted.
Voters also have the option to hand-deliver their mail-in ballots to their local registrar’s office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, June 17.
This year’s primary includes key races in the Democratic party, including contests for Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, House of Delegates seats and other local offices.
