Tornado warning was issued for parts of Central Virginia
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A tornado warning was issued for the Central Virginia area by the National Weather Service.
Eastern Sussex County was placed under a tornado warning until 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5.
Southeastern Dinwiddie County and northeastern Brunswick County were under a tornado warning that ended at 1:45 p.m.
In addition, a tornado watch is in effect until 8 p.m. and will affect the following counties:
- Greensville County
- Sussex County
According to the National Weather Service, people can expect flying debris and damage to roofs, windows, vehicles, trees and mobile homes. If you are affected, move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.
