Trick-or-treating, zombie walk and more coming to Richmond’s Carytown area

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Looking for a spooky-themed day in Richmond? The city's Carytown area will host trick-or-treating, a zombie walk and more festivities on Saturday.

At 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, the Byrd Theatre will show “The Exorcist: Director’s Cut.”

From noon to 2 p.m., participating businesses will hand out candy. Organizers said those participating will have a pumpkin sign on their door.

In addition, a dog costume contest will be hosted, and sign ups begin at 1:30 p.m., with the costume beginning at 2 p.m. A grand prize of $100 will be given to the winner. A cash prize will also be given to second and third place.

Organizers said attendees at the dog costume contest will get candy and all animals will get a gift bag.

At 2:30 p.m., the 19th Annual Richmond Zombie Walk will begin at the Byrd Theatre and head down Cary Street.

Skeletons will also be found at multiple businesses in the area.
