Two Henrico supervisors appointed to VACo steering committees
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two Henrico County supervisors been appointed to the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo), according to officials.
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, Henrico County announced that supervisors Dan J. Schmitt and Tyrone E. Nelson will serve on different steering committees of the VACo in 2026.
Schmitt is from the Brookland District and was appointed to the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Steering Committee.
Nelson is from the Varina District and was chosen for the Transportation Steering Committee.
VACo's steering committees' jobs include reviewing legislative requests from member counties, recommending an annual legislative program and providing guidance for any VACo staff member, per a release.
This association represents the local government at both the state and federal levels to provide a network to plan and implement ideas and technologies.
