Two more arrested in Henrico toddler’s drug toxicity death

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two more adults were arrested in connection with the death of a 3-year-old girl due to drug toxicity in June 2025.

At about 11:15 p.m. on June 3, 2025, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the 5400 block of Williamsburg Road for a reported medical emergency.

When officers arrived, they found a 3-year-old girl who was unconscious and not breathing.

Officers immediately began providing life-saving measures until Henrico County Division of Fire crews arrived. Police said the toddler died at the scene.

In a release shared by police on Tuesday, Jan. 20, police said the two other individuals who had been considered wanted by authorities were arrested in connection with the toddler's death.

On Thursday, Jan. 15, Jomaya Ciara Hunt, 19, of Henrico, turned herself in to authorities. Two days later, on Saturday, Jan. 17, Harvey Joe Turner, III, 42, of Henrico, was taken into custody, police said.

A Henrico County grand jury previously issued criminal indictments on Monday, Jan. 12, for Hunt, Turner and 41-year-old Tomeka Nicole Burton of Henrico, who was arrested following the grand jury hearing, according to police.

Police said Burton and Turner each face indictments of felony murder, two counts of child abuse, two counts of child endangerment and possession of a schedule I or II drug.

Officials said Hunt faces indictments of two counts of child abuse.
