Two people displaced after house fire in Chesterfield County
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two people are displaced after a fire broke out at a Chesterfield County home Thursday morning.
At 8:41 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, crews with the Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to the 5500 block of West Bay Road in Woodlake for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke from the second-story windows and fire in an upstairs room, according to Chesterfield fire officials.
Firefighters got the fire under control in about 10 minutes.

Officials said two people were at home when the fire started, and one was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The other person was evaluated on scene and is in stable condition.
Firefighters also rescued a cat from the home, per officials.
The displaced residents are being assisted by their family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
