Updates on Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s new “Thrive Expansion” project

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens is growing their gardens even further with their recent new "Thrive Expansion," project.

According to their website the expansion seeks to, "better serve our growing number of visitors and members as a center for environmental education, programming, and community wellness."

The $31 million expansion project was initially announced last year as a way to add and expand upon the gardens current landscape.

8News reached out to specialist at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and according to them, the project is a little over half-way complete.

Specialists also shared that they are both on time and on budget for the projects completion in 2026.

Lewis Ginter Gardens has since updated their page dedicated to the Thrive Expansion project with an updated overview, details on the conservatory and other additional updates.
