VCU Medical Center receives fifth consecutive recognition as Magnet hospital
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center has been recognized as a Magnet hospital for the fifth year in a row, highlighting the center's consistent care and practices.
A Magnet hospital designation means that a care center has shown exemplary leadership, professional practice, innovations and improvements, as well as measurable results as they relate to improved patient outcomes, according to a VCU Health release.
“This is the fifth consecutive designation and reflects almost 20 years of excellence and a continued commitment to safe, high-quality care, not just at VCU Medical Center, but across our entire health system,” said Jim Willis, interim president of VCU Medical Center. “This achievement is a testament to our incredible team members whose expertise, talent and compassion are undeniable.”
This re-designation comes courtesy of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and places the center in the top 10% of hospitals throughout the nation, VCU Health said.
