VDH, Petersburg to host Pink & Red Walk to raise awareness
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A Pink and Red Walk will be held in Petersburg tomorrow to raise awareness about the correlation between breast cancer and cardiovascular disease. The Petersburg Healthy Hearts Initiative Learning Collaborative -- in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the city of Petersburg -- are hosting a Pink and Red Walk on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Central Park located at 243 S Sycamore Street. The event aims to bring awareness to the relationship between breast cancer and cardiovascular disease and which groups they both impact, and will feature food, health vendors and live music. It is a free event for people of all ages to attend, and there is no preregistration required.
