Vehicle fire causes delays on I-95 in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A vehicle fire on Interstate 95 is causing delays for drivers in Richmond on Sunday.

The crash was first reported on the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, and is located on I-95 southbound, near the Maury Street exit.

As a result, the south right lane and right shoulder are closed.

According to the Virginia State Police, a disabled vehicle started smoking and then caught fire.

As of the time of reporting, there are no reported injuries.
