The department's mission is to protect and develop healthy, sustainable forest resources for Virginians. As of Tuesday, Jan. 21, applications are being accepted for the following positions: Full-time program support technician for the central region, with a salary ranging between $37,000 and $50,000 Full-time area forestry in the Shenandoah district, with a salary range starting at $43,888 Full-time forest technician in the southern rivers district, with a salary ranging between $37,000 and $45,000 Full-time forest technician in the headwaters district, with a salary ranging from $37,000 to $45,000 Full-time forest technician in the New River district, with a salary ranging from $37,000 to $45,000 Hourly Sussex nursery technician, with a rate of $15 per hour Hourly seasonal firefighter, with a starting rate of $20 per hour Full-time area forester in the Tidewater district, with a salary range starting at $43,888 To find more information about each position and see when they close to applicants, visit the department's website.
