Virginia’s average price for regular gasoline rises to $3.10 per gallon

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The average price of regular gasoline throughout Virginia has risen to $3.10 per gallon, as of Thursday, according to AAA.

The average price for regular gasoline in Virginia as of Thursday, March 5, was about $3.10 per gallon, reflecting an increase of roughly 10 cents overnight and an increase of about 27 cents since a week prior, according to AAA.

The Richmond region is paying more for gas than the average for the state, with about $3.18 per gallon of regular gasoline, as of Thursday, AAA's data shows.

Of localities within the Richmond area, AAA's data shows that Richmond residents and visitors continue to pay the most per gallon, on average, at $3.23, as of Thursday.

This comes as AAA reports that the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has increased by nearly 27 cents since last week to $3.25, although Virginia's average falls short by 15 cents, as of Thursday.

The Associated Press reported that gas prices were already rising before the U.S. launched strikes on Iran, though they continue to rise.
