Visual Arts Center of Richmond to host Color Block exhibition
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Visual Arts Center of Richmond will unveil Color Block, an exhibition of work by visiting artist-in-residence Eleanor Anderson, on Friday.
An opening reception will be held for the exhibition at the center's True F. Luck Gallery at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, with an artist talk beginning at 6 p.m.
The exhibition showcases work by visiting artist-in-residence Eleanor Anderson, curated by Haley Clouser.
"Color Block exemplifies Anderson’s intuitive processes and material explorations, presenting recent fused glass panels alongside her ongoing series of mixed-media textile tapestries rich with color, texture, and compositional nuance," said a spokesperson for the Visual Arts Center of Richmodn.
Anderson works with textiles, glass, metal and clay. She received her BA in studio art at Colorado College, and her MFA in fiber at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
Clouser is the assistant curator at the SCAD Museum of Art (SCAD MOA) and an independent curator and writer.
