Why didn’t Central Virginia Waste Management Authority pick up my trash?

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Trash pickup in the Richmond area provided by the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) will be delayed due to Memorial Day.

According to the agency, CVWMA customers will not have their trash collected on Monday, May 26. CVWMA offices will be closed due to Memorial Day.

All collections will be delayed by one day. For example, collections normally scheduled for Friday, May 30 will instead take place on Saturday, May 31.

"Red Week" customers in the cities of Richmond, Petersburg and Hopewell, as well as the counties of Henrico, Hanover and Goochland will be impacted.

Additionally, trash collection in the cities of Hopewell and Colonial Heights, as well as the town of Ashland, will be impacted more broadly.
