Winter storm leads to 240 crashes on Virginia roads: VSP
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- As the winter storm continues, Virginia has seen an increase in crashes on the roads.
As of 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, troopers from the Virginia State Police (VSP) have responded to 240 crashes, with 16 of those involving injuries across the Commonwealth. There has also been one fatal incident in Northern Virginia, but the weather was not a factor.
Of the 240 crashes, 54 were in Central Virginia, with one resulting in an injury.

As the winter weather continues across the Commonwealth, VSP is urging drivers to stay off the roads throughout the day into Monday. If you are driving, remember to leave room for Virginia Department of Transportation trucks and emergency crews to do their jobs on the road.
Motorists should also remember that the storm may impact emergency response times for stranded drivers.
