Woman faces 11 charges after Petersburg carjacking, police chase and crash in Richmond
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRICO -- A 37-year-old woman is accused of attacking someone at their Petersburg home, stealing their car and fleeing with it to Richmond, where police say she crashed it. According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police, 37-year-old Francesca Quesada is facing a total of 11 charges in connection to a Thursday night carjacking in the 100 block of S. Market Street. Officers were called to the victim's home just before 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct 24, where they learned that someone had attacked the victim, taking their keys and their vehicle. About two hours later, around 10 p.m., officers reportedly observed Quesada in the victim's vehicle at the intersection of Adams and E. Wythe streets. According to police, they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but she fled the area. Henrico Police looking for 3 suspects in connection to Home Depot fraud incidents Police said officers pursued Quesada onto Interstate 95 North, following until the city of Richmond, where she reportedly crashed. Quesada was then taken into custody. According to police, Quesada was charged with the following: Assault and battery Robbery Destruction of property Grand larceny of a motor vehicle Hit and run Reckless driving Carjacking Failure to comply with law enforcement commands Obstruction of justice Assault on law enforcement (two counts) Additionally, police said that Quesada was reportedly wanted out of Colonial Heights, Henrico and Petersburg on unrelated charges. She is currently being held pending her court appearance. The Petersburg Bureau of Police added that it is thankful for the assistance of Virginia State Police and the Chesterfield County Police Department, who aided in this arrest.
