Woman found dead in Chesterfield home after reported cardiac arrest, husband charged with second-degree murder
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman was found dead in her Chesterfield home after police responded to a reported cardiac arrest, and her husband was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
At 1:15 p.m. on Monday, June 9, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a reported cardiac arrest at a home in the 6900 block of Ipswich Drive.
When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Christine B. Gomez, dead. Upon investigating, police said her death was deemed suspicious and her remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for examination.
After further investigation, the victim's husband, 33-year-old Juliuscesar Q. Gomez was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death. They both lived at the home.
Juliuscesar was arrested on Friday, June 13 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
