Wreaths Across America event to take place in Petersburg
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A Wreaths Across America event will take place at Poplar Grove National Cemetery this month. According to Petersburg National Battlefield, the event will be held at Poplar Grove National Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 14. The ceremony begins at noon and the wreath placement will follow shortly after. The ceremony aims to honor America's armed forces and will feature a presentation of colors, the National Anthem and the wreath-laying. Parking will be available at Richard Bland College, located at 11301 Johnson Road. There will be a free shuttle bus to and from the cemetery beginning at 10:45 a.m., running every 15 minutes. The last pick-up will be around 11:45 a.m., according to organizers. For those with mobility issues, parking will be available at the cemetery.
