10 birds dead after fire at Chesterfield County pet store
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- 10 birds are dead after a fire blazed through a pet store in Chesterfield County on Friday morning. At 9:21 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to a structure fire in the 11900 block of Hull Street Road. According to officials, the first firefighters that arrived on scene found smoke coming from the front door of Brandon's Exotic Pets. Crews were able to get the fire under control in less than 20 minutes. According to Chesterfield Fire and EMS, there were no injuries, however 10 birds died in the fire. Officials said the cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical and accidental.
