16-year-old killed in Orange County crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) is investigating after a 16-year-old was killed in a crash in Orange County over the weekend. According to state police, on Sunday, Nov. 3 at around 3:22 p.m., 16-year-old William A.R. Lowry was traveling eastbound on Grasty Lane when he failed to turn at a curve, ran off the left side of the roadway and hit an embankment before overturning. Lowry was thrown out of the car during the crash and he died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. State police said that speed is being considered as a factor in the crash, which is currently under investigation.
