18-year-old Henrico man faces multiple charges after crash, police chase
AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Henrico County man is now facing multiple charges after a crash that led to a police chase on foot.
According to Virginia State Police, this incident occurred at 8:57 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, near the Route 256 exit on Interstate 81 northbound in Augusta County.
A 2013 Hyundai Elantra was traveling through the left lane on I-81 North when it hit the end cap of a guardrail. Police said the crash caused major damage to the car, which was confirmed to have been stolen from Chesterfield County earlier that same day.
The driver ran away and was eventually arrested with the help of deputies from the Augusta County Sheriff's Office.
Dylan E. Peters, 18, of Henrico, is facing two counts of credit card larceny, a misdemeanor count of hit and run, one count of possession of Schedule IV substances, one count of operating without a license, one count of DWI drugs, one count of grand larceny and a count of being a pedestrian on an interstate.
Peters is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail in Staunton.
