19-year-old arrested after deadly shooting in Richmond’s Southside
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged following a deadly shooting that took place in Richmond's Southside on Sunday morning.
According to Richmond Police, officers were called to the 1600 block of Glenfield Avenue on Sunday, Feb. 2 at around 10:18 a.m. for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived they found 20-year-old Christopher Collins III on the ground and unresponsive inside a residence due to an apparent gunshot wound. He was then taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.
Officials said that 19-year-old Shawna Lewis has been arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection to the shooting. Police also believe that Collins and Lewis both live in the residence where the shooting took place.
