GREENE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 19-year-old Albemarle County man was charged on Tuesday in a roving party shooting in Greene County's Barboursville area early Thanksgiving morning.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded in the early morning hours on Thursday, Nov. 27, to reports of a large party on Toms Road in Barboursville with shots being fired.

When deputies arrived, they found over 100 people fleeing the scene and multiple spent shell casings from different caliber guns. Officials said "it was obvious that a fight had occurred.”

One individual was hit by the rounds being fired and was being treated at a local hospital in stable condition.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, Greene County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested the suspected shooter, 19-year-old Nathanial Yount Jr., of Albemarle County, in Fluvanna County, after executing several search warrants and an extensive investigation.

Yount was charged with reckless handling of a firearm resulting in serious injury and unlawfully shooting the victim in the commission of a felony.

He is being held at Central Virginia Regional Jail without bond.
