2 dogs killed, residents displaced after townhouse fire in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two dogs are dead and some residents were displaced after a fire at a home in Chesterfield County.

At 11:11 a.m. on Friday, April 10, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded to a report of smoke at a townhouse in the 4700 block of Milfax Road. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire in the kitchen.

Crews controlled the fire in about 20 minutes. The fire did not spread to any other units besides the home.

Fire officials said two dogs died in the house fire. They reported no injuries to people.

The people who live at the home were displaced, but officials could not share the number at this time.

Any additional information, such as the cause of the fire, was not immediately available.
