Virginia State Police seize nearly $81M in drugs after operation

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police has seized nearly $81 million in drugs after a weeklong April operation.

As part of crime suppression efforts, police partnered with federal and local agencies to seize $80,957,228 worth of drugs. Officials included the following breakdown:

  • Cocaine -- 366.2 pounds
  • Marijuana -- 14,295.3 pounds
  • Fentanyl -- 19.8 pounds
  • THC Consumables -- 4.1 pounds
  • Methamphetamine -- 21.4 pounds
  • Ketamine -- 48 grams

"The Virginia State Police remain steadfast in their mission to enhance public safety and uphold the laws throughout the Commonwealth while supporting the Governor’s initiatives on violent crime. By working in close collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, law enforcement continues to disrupt criminal enterprises and safeguard communities," the operation release read.
