20-year old ex-Navy recruit indicted for child sex crimes in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 20-year-old ex-Navy recruit who had been indicted on multiple charges of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) has returned to Orange County to face them.
In a social post on Wednesday, Feb. 18, the Orange County Sheriff's Office announced that Sean Patrick William -- a 20-year-old man from Orange County -- had been extradited back to the county. He was reportedly extradited on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from out of state where he had been attending Navy training.
The sheriff's office began investigating allegations against William in December 2025.
Investigators were granted a search warrant on William's electronic devices, where a forensic examination discovered a large amount of images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material and videos of a person engaged in sexual contact with an animal.
From these findings, investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant, and he was taken into custody by the Groton Police Department in Connecticut.
An Orange County Grand Jury indicted Williams on Jan. 30 on the charges listed below:
- 50 counts of possession of CSAM
- Three counts of production of CSAM
- Two counts of indecent liberties with a child
- One count of object sexual penetration
- One count of producing, distributing or possessing obscene items depicting a person engaged in sexual contact with an animal
This investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator B. Gilbert with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 540-672-1234.
