2024 Red Ribbon Week is movie-themed
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Hanover County Sheriff's Office is participating in 2024 National Red Ribbon Week, whose theme is "Life is a movie, Film Drug Free." Red Ribbon Week, which was established by the National Family Partnership in 1980, is an initiative intended to empower families and communities to play an active role in education and advocacy against drug use, according to the sheriff's office. This year, students from across the country are invited to take part in a photo contest for a chance to win an iPad and $1,000 for their school, as well as "Red Ribbon Movie Mondays," in which videos made by students living drug-free will be showcased every week. More information about Red Ribbon Week and how to participate can be found here.
