21-year-old dies after two-vehicle crash in Henrico County
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 21-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Henrico County Saturday evening. At 5:41 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the intersection of Williamsburg Road and Whiteside Road for the report of a two-vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they found a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Nissan Altima that had collided. Police said two people inside the Chevrolet were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan was reportedly taken to a local hospital where police said he later died due to their injuries in the crash. Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Justin Lee Butler, Jr. of Henrico County. According to officials, the preliminary investigation indicates that Butler was heading west on Williamsburg Road when the driver of the Chevrolet, who was driving south on Whiteside Road, entered the intersection, hitting the front side of Butler's Nissan. Butler was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, police said. Investigators are working to determine any contributing factors behind the crash.
