22-year-old man facing multiple charges after shooting on Totty Street in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 22-year-old man is facing several charges, including aggravated malicious wounding, after police said a man was driven to a fire station with a gunshot wound in Chesterfield on Friday.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, 22-year-old Jonathan Morris was identified as the suspect in the shooting and was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Morris was reportedly charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said he is being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.

This comes after Chesterfield Police officers initially responded to Fire Station 12 in the Ettrick area at 12:06 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, for the report of a man who had a gunshot wound.

Police reportedly found out that the victim had been taken to the fire station in a citizen’s vehicle.

The victim was taken by helicopter to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of reporting, police said he remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Officials said the preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting occurred in the 3900 block of Totty Street.
