23-year-old Charlottesville man dead after Albemarle shooting believed to be gang-related
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Saturday night that investigators believe to be gang-related. At around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, units from Albemarle County Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 1600 block of Rio Hill Drive following reports of multiple shots fired and suspected injuries. When they arrived on scene, officers found 23-year-old Zerrion Eubanks-Warfield, of Charlottesville, dead. According to police, another victim was transported to an area medical center with injuries not considered life-threatening. According to police, several vehicles and apartments in the area were struck by multiple gunshots. Police said investigators believe the shooting is gang-related. According to authorities, an increased police presence remains in the area as the police department's Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate.
