23-year-old Florida woman’s remains found in Emporia
EMPORIA, Va. (WRIC) -- The remains of a 23-year-old Florida woman were found in Emporia on Saturday.
On Saturday, June 7, human remains were found near the intersection of Market Drive and Commonwealth Boulevard.
With the help of forensic scientists, the Emporia Police Department has identified the deceased as 23-year-old Meredith Rose Walker of Naples, Florida.
Walker's cause and manner of death have yet to be determined. This incident remains under active investigation.
"The Emporia Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Meredith’s family and loved ones during this difficult time," police said. "We remain committed to pursuing all leads and ensuring a thorough investigation."
