25 displaced after senior apartment complex catches fire in Hanover County
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Twenty-five people are displaced after a senior apartment complex caught fire in Hanover County early Wednesday morning.
According to Hanover County Fire-EMS, firefighters were dispatched at 12:28 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, for the report of a fire on the outside of a building in the 100 block of Omni Road in the town of Ashland.
When crews arrived, they found the senior living apartment complex on fire. The fire was marked under control after minutes and residents were evacuated.
There were no injuries, according to officials. Twenty-five residents were displaced and were being taken to local hotels. Multiple agencies are reportedly assisting the residents.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and officials continue to investigate.
