25-foot Virginia-grown Christmas tree to light up Richmond’s Capitol Square
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A massive Christmas tree grown in Grayson County will light up Capitol Square in downtown Richmond on Wednesday.
According to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the 25-foot Fraser fir tree, grown in Grayson County's Whitetop area, has a 30-foot circumference at its base.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3. It will include the annual lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree and the Executive Mansion Holiday Open House.
Both are free and open to the public.

Visitors are invited to tour the Virginia Executive Mansion, the nation's oldest continuously occupied governor's mansion, which will include decorations and seasonal displays.
