HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 27-year-old driver has died after her vehicle crashed into another car and overturned in Henrico County early Sunday morning.

At 4:54 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, Virginia State Police responded to Interstate 64 westbound in Henrico County near mile marker 196, just past the Airport Drive exit for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

According to police, a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 was "sideswiped in the right rear" by a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.

State police said that after the crash, the Mercedes overturned and stopped on its roof in the middle lane.

The driver of the Mercedes — identified as 27-year-old Tameecha F. Chambliss of Richmond — died from her injuries on the scene.

Chambliss was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Another woman -- identified as 27-year-old Alexandria Telisha Gamble of Richmond -- was in the passenger seat of the Mercedes, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment of "serious but non-life-threatening injuries," according to police.

Officials said the driver of the Chevrolet -- 46-year-old Miguel Andres Munive Rangel of Doswell -- was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Westbound lanes will remain closed while the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is on scene.
