33-year-old man dies in single-vehicle crash in Henrico County
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 33-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in Henrico County Sunday evening after reportedly tailgating a vehicle, trying to pass on the shoulder and hitting several trees, according to police.
At around 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the intersection of Woodman Road and Woodman Hills Court for a reported single-vehicle crash.
When officers arrived, they found a Mazda 6 along the northbound side of the tree line with a man inside. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was identified by police as 33-year-old Cody Lee Page, of the county's Glen Allen area.
Police said Page was reportedly tailgating another vehicle heading north on Woodman Road when he tried to pass the vehicle on the right shoulder.
According to officials, Page's sedan ran off the road and hit several trees before flipping over and finally stopping along the tree line.
Police believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
