35-year-old man charged following shooting at Chesterfield pub

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting that injured five people inside Shamrock Pub in Chesterfield County in late January.

Kalvon H. Turner, 35, has been arrested and charged with five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, wearing a mask in public, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, at this point, the investigation indicates that Turner and the victim with life-threatening injuries were involved in a "disturbance" when Turner pulled out a handgun and began firing shots.

Turner and the shooting victims did not know each other, officials said.

Police said Turner was apprehended on Thursday, Feb. 13 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobbaco, Firearms and Explosives.

At 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, Chesterfield Police officers responded to a reported shooting at Shamrock Pub.

When officers arrived, they found five victims with gunshot wounds, four of whom had non-life-threatening injuries and one of whom had life-threatening injuries. All victims were taken to local hospitals and have since been released.
