35-year-old woman killed in four-vehicle crash involving stolen car on I-195
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police have identified the victim and provided an update in the investigation regarding the four-vehicle crash that took place last night on Interstate 195. On Wednesday, Jan. 22 at approximately 8:50 p.m., state police responded to a four-vehicle crash on I-195 northbound at mile marker 5.2 in Richmond. According to VSP, a 2010 Chevy Malibu -- that was reported stolen in Richmond -- was headed south in the northbound lanes on the interstate, when it hit a 2023 Subaru head-on in the left lane. The crash caused the Subaru to overturn and hit a 2006 Toyota Camry. This resulted in a Tesla being unable to stop in enough time, which caused it to also hit the Malibu. State police identified the driver of the stolen vehicle as 35-year-old Ebony Washington, who died to injuries on the scene. The drivers of the other involved vehicles had non-life-threatening injuries. This crash is still under investigation by Virginia State Police.
