37-year-old man charged with murder in connection to deadly shooting of 23-year-old in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder, among other charges, in connection with the deadly shooting of a 23-year-old man in Richmond's Southside in April.
The victim of the deadly shooting was identified by the Richmond Police Department as 23-year-old Donavan Depriest, of Richmond.
Michael Davis, 37, of North Chesterfield, has been charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.
This comes after Richmond Police officers were called at 11:15 p.m. on April 10, to the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard for the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found Depriest lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where police said he died due to his injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
