40-year-old man charged with malicious wounding after child injured in Petersburg shooting
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 40-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including malicious wounding, after police said a child was injured in a shooting that occurred in mid-January.
On Friday, Feb. 6, the Petersburg Bureau of Police announced on social media that 40-year-old Anthony Jones was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the 300 block of Rives Road.
Police said the shooting "resulted in injuries to a child."
Jones was reportedly charged with malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Officials said Jones was also wanted on a show-cause violation, and he is being held without bond.
