44-year-old woman charged with malicious wounding after 89-year-old man found injured in Petersburg
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A 44-year-old woman has been charged with malicious wounding after an 89-year-old man was found with injuries to his chest, legs and face in Petersburg on Sunday.
At 2:46 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, officers with the Petersburg Bureau of Police responded to the 100 block of West Old Street for the report of an assault.
When officers arrived, they found an 89-year-old man with puncture wounds to his chest and legs as well as facial injuries.
The man was reportedly taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect was identified as 44-year-old Erica Nicole Milam, and was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding and public intoxication.
Milam was held at Riverside Regional Jail pending her appearance in court, according to officials.
