46-year-old man identified as person killed in crash with Henrico power poles

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The person who died after crashing into several power poles in Henrico County on Monday has been identified by police.

The Henrico County Police Division identified the man as being 46-year-old Tony Darrell Volley of Henrico County.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28, officers with the Henrico County Police Division were called to the intersection of Hungary Springs and Staples Mill Road for the report of a single-vehicle crash.

When they arrived, officers found Volley, who had reportedly crashed into several power poles. He died at the scene. According to police, Volley was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.

Police said the preliminary investigation showed that Volley was heading north on Hungary Spring Road while speeding when he hit several utility poles.

Officials said that it is possible Mr. Volley suffered a medical emergency; however, police are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
