47-year-old woman killed in Rockingham County crash

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle deadly crash that occurred yesterday morning in Rockingham County. At 8:20 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, a crash took place at the intersection of Route 33 and Rockingham Pike. According to state police, a 2006 Honda Civic was headed east on Route 33 when it did not stop at a red light and hit a 2011 Ford F150 that attempted to turn left on Route 33 from Rockingham Pike. Police said the Ford had the green light. Forty-seven-year-old Brand R. Morris, the driver of the Honda, was taken to Sentara RMH Medical Center, where she died from injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police. The 21-year-old driver of the Ford was taken to Sentara RMH Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt. This crash is still under investigation by Virginia State Police.
