52-year-old man arrested after vehicle pursuit injured two King William County deputies

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 52-year-old man was arrested this week in connection to a vehicle pursuit that injured two King William County deputies earlier in August.
In the evening of Monday, Sept. 1, the King William County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for a home in the county, following a vehicle pursuit on Saturday, Aug. 9, that led to a "fiery vehicle crash" where two deputies were injured.
Deputies found and seized several items, including a 2019 Suzuki GSX-S1000 motorcycle as part of the investigation. Other information was obtained, with warrants issued. However, as of the time of reporting, it's unclear what the specifics of that information were.
According to authorities, 52-year-old Carleton Van Rensselaer of Aylett was taken into custody without incident.
Van Rensselaer is currently being held without bond at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center, and charges are still pending.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at King William General District Court.
No further details are available as of the time of reporting.
