66-year-old Richmond man hit, killed by driver on Hull Street Road

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 66-year-old Richmond man was hit and killed by a driver on Hull Street Road on Friday.

At 6:37 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 3800 block of Hull Street Road for a report of a pedestrian that had been hit by an SUV.

When officers arrived, they found 66-year-old Charles Hunt of Richmond down and unresponsive in the right westbound lane of Hull Street Road. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The Crash Team determined that Hunt was trying to make a mid-block crossing from the north side of the street to the south side when he was hit by the driver of the SUV, who was in the westbound left lane at the time.

The driver remained at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
