74-year-old Goochland man accused of child sex crimes

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 74-year-old Goochland County man has been hit with several charges related to child sexual abuse.
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, the Goochland County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 74-year-old Michael Arnette.
According to the sheriff's office, this arrest is the result of a lengthy investigation related to a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
In total, Arnette faces nine counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) -- but authorities said further charges are pending.

While the sheriff's office did not share any further details on the nature of the crimes Arnette is accused of committing, it did say there is no indication that a local victim was involved.
As of Tuesday, Arnette is being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
