Chesterfield County Fire and EMS added in a separate post that its crews have taken 51 calls since 8 a.m., including 20 weather-related ones. Many were crashes, including the one pictured above, which took place on Chippenham Parkway.
The ongoing winter storm has led to slippery roads, reduced visibility and hazardous conditions -- making travel extremely dangerous.
Virginia State Police has also urged drivers to stay off the roads during this time to avoid further incidents and ensure safety for all.
