8News gets a sneak peek of Richmond Dance Festival 2026

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from several special guests with Dogtown Dance on Thursday to talk about the upcoming Richmond Dance Festival 2026.

8News anchor Autumn Childress was joined by LaWanda Raines, board of directors president for Dogtown Dance, as well as multiple dancers, to talk about what people can expect.

"You are going to see a wonderful concert that has a wide variety of dance," Raines said. "Modern, contemporary, tap, classical Indian -- we have a West African dance company performing that also has a singer as part of their presentation, in addition to some amazing dance film work."

The dancers performed an example of a contemporary dance live in the studio as well, demonstrating what attendees will be able to see at the event.

The Richmond Dance Festival will take place at the Cultural Arts Center of Glen Allen on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 11 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
