Person seriously hurt after multi-vehicle crash shut down part of Laburnum Avenue in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person has been seriously hurt in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down an intersection of Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County Thursday morning.

According to the Henrico County Police Division, all westbound lanes of Laburnum Avenue at the intersection with Harris Avenue were closed for several hours on Thursday, April 2, due to a multi-vehicle crash with reported injuries.

Just before 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, police initially responded to the intersection of Laburnum Avenue and Mechanicsville Turnpike for a report of a multi-vehicle crash.

Police confirmed one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

At 11:21 a.m. Thursday, police shared that crews have cleared the road, and all lanes of Laburnum Avenue are now reopened.

"It is still too early to determine who is at fault or if any charges are necessary," police said.
