8News learns all things goat with Choose Joy Farm

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from some special guests on Thursday morning, including two in a stroller, to learn about an upcoming opportunity to care for goats while sneaking in some snuggles.

8News anchor Autumn Childress and reporter Deniel Dookan, along with StormTracker8 meteorologist Jessica Kirk, were joined by Mollie and Justin Romero of Choose Joy Farm in Lanexa on Thursday, March 5. The Romeros also brought their best representatives to the 8News studio: two 8-week-old goats named Rosie and Riley, who are part of a quadruplet.

Choose Joy Farm is offering a baby goat snuggle and basic care class on March 15. The class teaches attendees how to care for the animal responsibly while providing plenty of snuggles.

"People don't know what to do -- [the goats] have gotten too cold or they haven't had enough water. So we decided that teaching was better than just selling," Mollie Romero said.

The farm also raises pigs, ducks, chickens and rabbits. For more information, visit Choose Joy Farm.
